A.W. Beattie Career Center – Emergency Response Technology-Is a key partner of Shaler Hampton EMS. Formed by 9 local school districts to provide technical education, but most importantly for us, both Hampton and Shaler School Districts are part of Beattie. Many of their students have chosen us to gain their EMS experience over the years and this has resulted in several of their students becoming our employees!  Click below to learn more about their ERT program! Center for Emergency Medicine – One of 2 primary providers of EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic education in western PA, with classes offered in Oakland and other regional sites. Go to the Center for Emergency Medicine for continuing education.

Concerned Citizens for EMS CC4EMS is a small group of private citizens with serious concerns about the current state and future viability of the nation’s Emergency Medical Services system. Its goal is to enlighten citizens and political leadership about the existence of problems with the EMS system, and more importantly, to collectively work towards finding realistic solutions to resolve them.

The Community College of Allegheny County – Public Safety Institute – Also provides EMT and AEMT education in western PA. One unique opportunity is the availability of FireVEST scholarships, that through committing to volunteering with a volunteer fire department in Allegheny County can lead to CCAC being no cost to you! EMS West – The regional governing body for EMS and coordinates many oversight functions for EMS. Their website is filled with information concerning regulatory requirements, educational opportunities, including our annual regional conference, and EMS state clinical protocols. IUP Paramedic ProgramThe IUP Institute for Rural Health and Safety is primarily designed for future EMS personnel but is appropriate for anyone who may respond to emergencies, including fire/rescue personnel, nurses, coaches, athletic trainers, and safety professionals. Participants who successfully complete this program are eligible to take National Registry of Paramedics certification exams for state (Pennsylvania) and national certification as a paramedic.
